Hub Australia’s New Flagship Martin Place Site Raises the Workplace Experience Bar

Australia’s premium flexible workspace and building hospitality provider, Hub Australia, has secured its fifteenth site at the state heritage listed building 44 Martin Place, Sydney—raising the bar for workplace experience on a global scale when the flagship for the local pioneer of flexible work opens in mid-2023.

The 400-desk site, located in Sydney’s iconic Martin Place, will bring together a world-class premium business lounge, an apertivo bar with menus curated by notable chefs, mixologists and sommeliers, personalized cultural experiences, a lifestyle concierge, and an exclusive business and executive networking community.

Designed by architects Hassell, Hub Martin Place aims to redefine the workspace experience for the next-generation of technology-savvy, health-conscious, and modern-thinking professionals.

Across three floors, premium amenities will include a serviced café and bar on level 1 operated by Hub and open to all tenants of the building, a business lounge, bookable meeting spaces and a range of desk and private office configurations.

Hub’s in-house property team brokered the deal directly with owner Gwynvill after discussions regarding the site commenced almost five years ago. Hub identified the site as a strategic location in its expansion plans, aligning with its desire for buildings that offer a unique workplace and hospitality experience, set in iconic locations with abundant transport and cultural infrastructure.

“Our aim is to provide a sophisticated offering that competes with the best around the globe, as we continually strive to provide the best premium workspace experience for our customers. Hub Martin Place is the next evolution of the ultimate workspace experience here in Australia,” said John Preece, Chief Property Officer at Hub.

“The incredibly high demand for premium workspaces in Sydney is showing no sign of slowing down, and this new flagship site responds directly to the expectations of next-generation professionals who are embracing new ways of working and expect a holistic, engaging and seamless workspace experience that goes beyond desks and square meters.

“Our focus continues to be driving the evolution of building hospitality and flexible work in Australia, and this site is the culmination of over ten-years of experience and expertise in the local market combined with global best-practice,” Preece added.

Rebekah Murphy, Chief Experience Officer at Hub said: “Hub Australia’s trademark hospitality-led service and best-in-business amenity management will curate a customer experience that is unsurpassed for members of Hub Martin Place. We strongly believe that offering corporates a private, bespoke, and sophisticated premium workspace will help them to attract and retain talented staff in a competitive environment.

“Hub Martin Place will deliver a new level of personalized service for its members, with tailored executive wellness programs and lifestyle concierge services integral to its offerings. The workspace experience will also extend beyond the confines of Hub’s levels to activate Martin Place at a precinct level, bringing in lifestyle and cultural partnerships, to facilitate spaces and platforms for business leaders to gather, work, connect and socialize.”

The exclusive nature of the state-heritage listed building, along with its central location and transport infrastructure is almost irreplaceable in any other Australian city. This makes it an enviable and ideal place to work for a range of high-end financial, technology, legal and blue-chip organizations demanding flexible workspaces in Sydney.

The building’s refurbishment will offer advanced, high performing systems and is designed to achieve several sustainability targets including a 5 Star NABERs Base Building Energy rating and 4 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating.
